Welcome to the Plant Stress Physiology Group!

We are part of the Department of Agricultural Sciences, Biotechnology and Food Science
at the Cyprus University of Technology, based in Limassol, Cyprus.

The Plant Stress Physiology Group was established by Dr. Vassilis Fotopoulos in 2008. Our group has extensive research experience in plant stress physiology, biochemistry, molecular biology and biotechnology with emphasis on chemical and biological priming technologies towards stress protection and growth promotion, as well as the study of oxidative and nitrosative signaling cascades involved in plant responses to abiotic and biotic stress factors. We are based in the Laboratory of Crop Science and Technology, which is equipped with state-of-the-art core facilities, such as an IQ5 and a StepOnePlus qPCR cycler, an ABI capillary sequencer, a fluorescence microscopy unit, GC/GC-MS/HPLC-UV chromatographers as well as walk-in growth chambers.
